Garli is a heritage village located in Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh With elegant havelis, mansions and Italianate buildings, interspersed amongst lovely mud-plastered and slate-roofed houses, Garli is a hamlet waiting to be discovered.   Garli has a population of approximately 2000, and boasts of schools, hospitals, water systems, and more - all which were established almost 100 years ago.   An amazing diversity of architecture (some decaying & some crumbling), scenery, biodiversity, Garli remains relatively unspoilt, giving her a medieval ambience. Recognizing the need to protect their heritage, in December 2002 the Government of Himachal Pradesh notified Garli as a Heritage Village.   People who would like to see something unique, and are willing to “rough it out” (accommodation is simple, and clean, with home stay options) can enjoy the immense diversity of this village. – Its planning, its people, its arts & crafts, etc. – and experience village life in its true sense.
